Hansi Raber spent the last four years programming a "3d oscilloscope music" synthesizer, a musical genre that does not (yet) really exist. Jerobeam Fenderson is an experimental musician and audio engineer.Hansi Raber hat die letzten drei Jahre damit verbracht, einen «3D-Oszilloskop-Musik» Synthesizer zu programmieren, ein Musikgenre, das (noch) nicht wirklich existiert. Jerobeam Fenderson ist ein experimenteller Musiker und Tontechniker.
Together they created Oscilloscope Music, an audio-visual project that uses old analogue oscilloscopes for displaying hand crafted waveforms as x-y plot.Oscilloscope Music is audiovisual music, where the visuals are drawn by the sound. In order to get the closest possible correlation between image and sound, the exact same signal that is connected to the left and right speakers is also connected to an analog oscilloscope's X and Y inputs, producing complex lissajous images. Their talk at the MuDA will dive deeper into the current state of work, including technical details and how they shaped their artistic vision.Zusammen haben sie “Oscilloscope Music” ins Leben gerufen, ein audiovisuelles Projekt, das alte analoge Oszilloskope nutzt um handgefertigte Wellenformen auf einem Streudiagramm darzustellen. Bei ihrem Vortrag im MuDA werden sie tiefer darauf eingehen wie das Projekt die verpassten Möglichkeiten einer (quasi) ausgestorbenen analogen Bildschirmtechnologie erforscht und gleichzeitig eine ganz andere Art der Synthese von Audiosignalen vorsieht.
