Building With People: An interactive talk with sound artist Marianthi Papalexandri-AlexandriFollowing the submersive talk by our current artist Pe Lang, the MuDA and sound artist Marianthi Papalexandri-Alexandri started to question if there was a more open, critical and playful way for artists and creators to engage with the public about their work?In a prototype event that hopes to explore this question, Marianthi will lead our first “Building With People” evening.The artist will bring some of her sound works, speak a bit about them and her practice, and let people give their inputs whilst they actively engage with them. She will also bring some of her motor driven sound producing objects to experiment with, asking the participants to try to work them into their own practice, thoughts or just to play.
The idea is for artists to engage with people through a playful hands-on exchange, where they can give their feedback, link to their own practices and add a notch through experimentation. We envision an organic conversation spontaneously forms, new ideas shared, experimentation sparked or let us just see what happens...Participants will also have a chance to talk with Marianthi about her sound installation created with Pe Lang currently on display at MuDA.
