The class is all about showing you tools and ways to create visuals outputs with the help of code. No worries, no hardcore coding, or a lot of math is required. The session is for everyone (teens and adults) new to coding. You don’t need to have any experience, and we start from the very beginning of what is code and how to display things on a screen. We will work with P5.js, which is a great programming-environment developed to allow artists and designers to use code as a design tool. Through guided examples, you will get to know the simple world of creative coding. Ziel dieses Online Workshops ist es die kreative Arbeit mit Code allen zugänglich zu machen, insbesondere denen, die sonst keinen Zugang zu diesen Tools und Ressourcen haben oder noch nie programmiert haben. Im Workshop wird kreativ mit Code herumgespielt und beinhaltet das Erzeugen von Bildern mithilfe von Code. Gleichzeitig werden aber auch die Grundbausteine des Programmierens erlernt, welche in allen Programmiersprachen ähnlich sind. Mithilfe von Processing wirst du einen ersten Einblick ins Creative Coding erhalten. Processing (P5.js) ist eine open-source Programmiersprache welche häufig in der Medienkunst verwendet, unter anderem um Bilder und Videos zu erstellen. Nebenbei eignet sie sich gut, um Programmieren zu lernen.

Daniel StumpDaniel is a kombucha lover, small business owner, pixel counter, and all-around happy. He currently lives in Zurich and Rotterdam. Back in 2007 he had the first contact with the creative digital world – by learning Flash (AS3). A decade later, he fell in love with Processing. He loves all kinds of generative design and the limitless ways of creative coding. He studied digital Ideation (UX), and his creative background allows him to be very sensitive to visual details, animation, and typography.

Creative Coding In this series, teachers introduce teens and adults to coding and its creative realm. Through tangible examples, he will teach you the wonders of coding languages, and how to make them yours. Each class will tackle a different topic, so feel free to join along the way.
