Marcel Blattner Marcel Blattner is Chief Data Scientist of Swiss publishing house Tamedia and teaches classes in Artificial Intelligence at the University of Applied Sciences in Business Administration in Zurich. He holds a Ph.D. in Theoretical Physics and a doctorate in the field of nonlinear dynamics in complex systems. After working at the Brookhaven National Laboratory in New York he advised companies such as Deutsche Telekom and Netflix as Head of Research for the Web Science Laboratory at the FFHS. His scientific focus lies in the study of pattern recognition in large data volumes, as well as Machine and Deep Learning.
Ex Machina A 2015 released British science fiction thriller film written and directed by Alex Garland, his directing debut. It stars Domhnall Gleeson, Alicia Vikander and Oscar Isaac. Ex Machina tells the story of programmer Caleb Smith (Gleeson) who is invited by his employer, the eccentric billionaire Nathan Bateman (Isaac), to administer the Turing test to an android with artificial intelligence (Vikander).
