In this stunning pavilion built in collaboration by humans and robots, ETH and MuDA introduce children to the playful and rational thinking behind technology and design to further their creative potential and cultivate their skills as makers.
Die ETH und das MuDA geben Kindern auf spielerische Weise einen Einblick die spielerische und rationale Welt der digitalen Technologie. Die Förderung des kreativen Potenzials der Kinder als zukünftige Macher und Programmierer steht im Mittelpunkt.
The ETH and the MuDA introduce children to the playful and rational thinking behind technology and design to further their creative potential and cultivate their skills as makers.
During the weekend of the first Zurich Design Biennale, the ETH ✕ MuDA Robotic Pavilion (built by the genius Gramazio Kohler team) will be a place filled with fun, electronic and digital activities to introduce children to computational, logical thinking alongside the most basic of programming and design concepts. Kids will have the chance to engage with a variety of projects whether they are newbies who are just getting started, or already tech aficionados ready to build and code their own multi-tasking robot!
Während dem Wochenende der ersten Zürich Design Biennale verwandelt sich der zweistöckige ETH ✕ MuDA Robotic Pavillon (erdenkt vom Genien des Gramazio Kohler-Teams) in einen Ort, an welchem Kinder sich an elektronischen und digitalen Aktivitäten, sowie dem logischen und konzeptionellen Denken des Programmierens, annähern können. Die Kinder erhalten die Möglichkeit an den verschiedensten Projekten teilzunehmen, egal ob digitaler Neuankömmling in der Zahlenwelt, oder erfahrener Techgeek, welcher seinen selbstgebauten Roboter schon selber zum Leben erwecken kann!

During the four days of the first Zurich Design Biennale, the ETH ✕ MuDA Robotic Pavilion (built by the genius Gramazio Kohler team) will be a place filled with fun, electronic and digital activities to introduce children to computational, logical thinking alongside the most basic of programming and design concepts. Kids will have the chance to engage with a variety of projects whether they are newbies who are just getting started, or already tech aficionados ready to build and code their own multi-tasking robot!
The first level of the Robotic Pavilion will be an experimental lab where humans from 8 to 101 years old can join workshops, build prototypes, learn about circuits and soldering, electronics, programming and playing with our friends of zeros and ones.

The second level will be a secret space where kids starting from 4 years of age will have access to a library of off-screen projects discovering exciting new worlds of pixels, algorithms, binary numbers, programming and robots mixing tech, play and creativity!

Im ersten Stock befindet sich das Lab, wo Menschen zwischen 8 und 101 Jahren an jeglichen Workshops teilnehmen und sich technische Fähigkeiten aneignen können. Hier werden Prototypen gebaut und Stromkreisläufe und Lötungen erklärt, sowie Elektronik und Programmieren im Allgemeinenen erforscht und ausprobiert.

Der zweite Stock, als geheimer Ort, bieten Kindern ab 4 Jahren den Platz und Raum, verschiedene analoge Spiele und Projekte zu entdecken und sich in der Welt der Pixel, Algorithmen und Zahlen, sowie der Robotik auszuprobieren. HIer gehts um Spiel, Spaß und Kreativität!

Angeknüpft an eine offene und bewegliche Räumlichkeit, der Robotic Pavillon von Gramazio Kohler Research, welcher innovative Bauweisen und kreatives Design verkörpert, knüpft an die Zusammenarbeit von ETH und dem MuDA auf eine natürliche Weise an, da sie junge Generationen in den Mittelpunkt stellt und ein Ziel verfolgt, welche beide Institutionen in ihrem Schaffen verbindet: Zu inspirieren und unterstützen.

Design Biennale Zurich is initiated by the Association “Verein Freundeskreis Design”.
