Il dépeint souvent la familiarité de la vie quotidienne, avant de soudainement renverser les perspectives, créant ainsi une nouvelle réalité délicieusement déroutante.
Dirk Koy has been cutting and reassembling the magnetic band of his parents’ VHS tapes while still a child. Perhaps it was this curiosity that led him to an education in graphic design where he developed a keen eye for shapes and patterns. Using cameras, sometimes attached to flying drones, he captures them in common surroundings. A simple roundabout can become a perfect circle, from the right perspective. He then masterfully displaces pixels and time, rediscovering and reshaping its ordinarity until it turns into a joyful piece of art. Vielleicht war es diese Neugier, die ihn zu einer Ausbildung als Grafiker bewegte, wo er ein scharfes Auge für Formen und Muster entwickelte. Mit Kameras, manchmal an fliegenden Drohnen befestigt, fängt er diese in alltäglicher Umgebung ein. So kann beispielsweise ein einfacher Autokreisel aus der richtigen Perspektive zum perfekten Kreis werden. Anschliessend verschiebt er Pixel und Zeit meisterhaft, entdeckt und formt Gewohntes neu, bis es sich in ein hinreissendes Kunstwerk verwandelt. Forse è stata questa curiosità a portarlo a studiare design grafico, dove ha sviluppato un occhio attento per forme e modelli. Con le sue fotocamere, a volte montate su droni volanti, cattura questi elementi in ambienti comuni. Una semplice rotatoria può diventare un cerchio perfetto, vista dalla giusta prospettiva. Poi, sposta magistralmente pixel e tempo, riscoprendo e trasformando l’ordinario in un’opera d’arte gioiosa. At the heart of Castel Grande lies Sala Arsenale, a grand hall built in the 15th century to store artillery for the town’s defense. With its rock-solid foundation, it now serves as our latest exhibition space to explore breath-taking artworks. The exhibition is complemented by an extension into the historic courtyard, surrounded by the castle’s walls and towers.Im Herzen von Castel Grande liegt der Sala Arsenale. Eine Halle im fünfzehnten Jahrhundert erbaut, um Waffen für die Verteidigung der Tals zu lagern. Mit ihrem massiven Fundament dient sie heute als unser neuester Ausstellungsraum, um atemberaubende Kunstwerke zu zeigen. Die Ausstellung wird durch den historischen Innenhof ergänzt, umgeben von den Mauern und Türmen der Burg.Nel cuore di Castel Grande si trova la Sala Arsenale, una grande sala costruita nel XV secolo per immagazzinare l'artiglieria destinata alla difesa della città. Con le sue solide fondamenta, oggi funge da nostro spazio espositivo più recente per esplorare opere d'arte mozzafiato. Following a successfull crowdfunding campaign in 2015, MUDA opened its doors in an old industrial building in Zurich, where it held exhibitions, workshops and public discussions about the relationships of data, algorithms and society. Being largely self-funded it closed in 2020 due to the pandemic, layed dormant for exactly five years and emerged again in an old castle in the south of Switzerland.Infolge einer erfolgreichen Crowdfunding-Kampagne im Jahr 2015 öffnete das MUDA seine Türen in einem alten Industriegebäude Zürichs, wo Ausstellungen, Workshops und öffentliche Diskussionen über die Beziehungen zwischen Daten, Algorithmen und Gesellschaft stattfanden. Da grösstenteils eigenfinanziert, musste es 2020 aufgrund der Pandemie schliessen. Nach einem genau fünfjährigen Winterschlaf wachte es wieder in einer alten Burg im Süden der Schweiz auf.Dopo una campagna di crowdfunding di successo nel 2015, MUDA ha aperto le sue porte in un vecchio edificio industriale a Zurigo, dove ha ospitato mostre, workshop e dibattiti pubblici sulle relazioni tra dati, algoritmi e società.
